An Eventbrite alternative for your next event.

For organizers who already have an audience.

Create an event, sell tickets, manage attendees, and check people in. CrabGate is hosted ticketing for small rooms, independent conferences, and recurring workshops with their own audiences.

$99 a year, in US dollars. No CrabGate per-ticket fee. Stripe's processing fee still applies.

A free 45-minute setup call with Paul, until 20 December. No card to sign up. You pay when your event goes on sale, and you have 30 days to change your mind. Prefer no call? Sign up and set it up yourself.

Start with how people find your event

Do your buyers arrive from your website, mailing list, or community? Then you do not need a marketplace, and you do not need to pay for one.

Eventbrite also provides a discovery marketplace. CrabGate does not replace that channel. Before switching, check which sales come from Eventbrite discovery and which come from links you share. The fee is only one part of the decision.

Product demo: the ticket shop and check-in

An event page in a CrabGate Shop: the event name, date, and place on the left, and a ticket picker with two ticket types on the right.
Example event page. Buyers pick tickets, pay by card, and get them by email.
The Door on a phone: a green screen that says Checked in, with the attendee's name and ticket.

Check the booking and the door

Use the demo screens to check the details that matter: how buyers choose tickets, what confirmation they receive, and how your staff find and check in attendees.

Ticket money goes through your own Stripe account. You can export event records. What is different: one yearly price, no fee on the ticket, and ticket money in your own Stripe account.

Eventbrite also offers attendee check-in through its Organizer app. Compare the workflow your staff will use before choosing a shop.

Compare the organizer bill and the buyer bill

Eventbrite in the US

Published US rates list a service fee of 3.7% plus $1.79 per paid ticket and payment processing of 2.9% of the order total, including service fees and tax. Free tickets have no Eventbrite ticketing fee.

Check your own agreement and the current rates before deciding.

CrabGate

$99 a year, in US dollars.

The organizer pays a flat yearly bill. No CrabGate per-ticket fee or percentage of ticket sales. Stripe processing fees remain.

Read the current pricing

If buyers pay your Eventbrite fees today, those fees are part of their checkout bill. Removing that buyer charge does not make it an organizer saving. Include CrabGate's annual bill and Stripe processing when you compare your own costs.

For a cost estimate, use the Eventbrite fee calculator. Compare the same ticket sales, fee payer, and processing assumptions on both sides. The calculator excludes tax and assumes one ticket per card order; it does not model different order sizes.

Try the next event before you move further

Choose one upcoming event. Set up its ticket types and prices, inspect a test order, and check the door workflow before sending buyers to the new shop.

Keep existing Eventbrite orders in the system where they were sold. Make sure your staff know which system holds each ticket. Setting up your next event does not import old tickets or move your whole season.

If one buyer books for a group, check who receives the confirmation and how information reaches the other attendees.

The offer: I'll get your next event on sale with you, free

Paul Bădărău

I'm Paul Bădărău, and I build CrabGate. Until 20 December, I'm setting up every new shop myself. Pick your next real event, and we'll get it on sale together in one 45-minute call.

The call is free. You pay $99 for the year when you put the event on sale. If you don't, you owe nothing.

This offer closes on 20 December. That's 45 days from today. After that, you set up your shop on your own.

And if it doesn't work out? If your first event on CrabGate doesn't go well, email me within 30 days of paying and I'll refund the $99. No form, no argument.

By the end of the call, you'll have

  • Your shop, at an address you choose.
  • Your Stripe account connected, so ticket money goes straight to you.
  • Your next event built, with its ticket types and prices.
  • A test order in your inbox, so you've seen what your buyers get.
  • A Door Link for whoever checks people in.
Set up your next event It takes a minute and no card. I get an email the moment you sign up, and I reply within one working day. Your other events stay right where they are.

Questions before you switch

Will CrabGate find buyers for me?
CrabGate is a hosted ticket shop, not an event discovery marketplace. You bring the audience. If Eventbrite discovery brings you buyers, include that channel in your decision.
Can I use my own domain, logo, and colors?
Not yet. Your hosted shop uses a CrabGate address. If branding is part of your decision, tell us what you need.
What should I check for recurring workshops?
Check dates, capacity, orders, and buyer instructions for each workshop. Read CrabGate for workshops and ask about the workflow your next date needs before you plan a series.
Does no CrabGate ticket fee mean no payment fees?
No. Stripe processing still applies. The $99 yearly subscription is paid by the organizer.
